Victoria Street from Concordia/Rondo to Summit is scheduled for a mill and overlay this summer.
The project will grind off the top two inches of pavement and replace with a new smooth surface and new striping. The project will also be making a number of pedestrian crossing improvements and will upgrade curb ramps to be ADA compliant and easier for people rolling and using strollers. On street parking will remain along the corridor. More information about the project can be found on the City of Saint Paul's Website. This project was not on the City of Saint Paul's 3 year road improvement plan, instead it came out of a recent pool of funding that is being used for similar projects across Saint Paul. You can find a Villager article about a similar project HERE. Some previous community engagement from 2017 has driven some of the "pedestrian crossing improvements". We are asking the community to join us at an upcoming forum to learn more about the project, discuss other pedestrian concerns, and consider if public art could potentially be part of this project.
