On Saturday, September 21st we are celebrating us and demanding that love replaces guns on our community.

Guns Down Love Up Unity Festival is a day to celebrate and uplift those we have lost to gun violence. This year's festival theme, "My Brother's Keeper" will highlight alternative solutions to decreasing gun violence through healing, laughter, and reconciliation.

The day will be filled with fun activities for the whole family;
- Educational gun violence outreach
- Healing spaces
- Creative spaces
- Cultural space
- Free Food

Statistically
-African Americans are ten times more likely than white Americans to die by gun violence.
-68% of African American adults or someone they care for has experienced gun violence in their lifetime.
- Children exposed to violence are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol; suffer from depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder; resort to aggressive and violent behavior, and engage in criminal activity.

While the numbers may be shocking, the results aren't. Communities across America are discussing the trauma of gun violence and how to solve it. Guns Down. Love Up is bringing this conversation to the community residents of North Minneapolis. And We invite your organization to join us in supporting this vital mission as we focus on the impact of gun violence in our community.
