With so much happening in and around the neighborhood (light rail, soccer stadium development, bridge projects, just to name a few), Eric is excited to help make sure that the benefits of improvements to Summit-University are shared by all residents and driven by input from all residents, especially those who have traditionally been excluded from development processes.
Eric has lived in sub-district E for over ten years. His block is a mix of life-long Rondo residents and people new to Saint Paul. Having coordinated alley plowing payment and contracting for his block for the past several years he was interested in doing more. Long-time Summit-University resident and SUPC board member Angela Burns recruited him for the SUPC. Eric and his partner Stacia met while attending Macalester College in the late nineties. (Both of their first apartments were on Selby Avenue.) Stacia works at charter schools here in Saint Paul. Both of Eric’s children attended J.J. Hill Montessori until moving to Open World Learning (on the West side, adjacent to Humboldt High School). Eric has worked in downtown Saint Paul as a software engineer for the past five years at Granicus (newly-renamed from GovDelivery) – a company started by a Saint Paulite. Eric is a fan of pho, public transit and bicycle commuting so Saint Paul is the perfect place for him to live.
