Beginning September 14, you can nominate outstanding community businesses for awards in different categories: Alice O'Brien Award - Honoring a woman-owned business committed to equity and empowerment. Good Neighbor Award - Honoring a business that has demonstrated dedication to improving the community. New Kid on the Block Award - Honoring a business that has opened in Saint Paul within the last five years. People’s Choice Award - Recognizing a business celebrated by Saint Paul residents for its excellence. Traditions Award - Honoring a business that has been active in Saint Paul for at least twenty years. Small but Mighty Award - Honoring a single owner-operated business with fewer than 5 employees. Small in size but mighty in impact on the community.

Selby Avenue Mixed-Use Zoning COMMUNITY WORKSHOP
If you live, work, commute, or own a business along Selby Avenue, or want to help guide future development in the area, join us for a workshop on Wednesday, September 23, at 6:00 p.m. to discuss what comes next. Future development along Selby Avenue is guided by zoning, the City’s rulebook for what can be built where. The City of Saint Paul wants your input about how we can use zoning to help the corridor grow in a way that supports community goals and investment in public transit. The workshop will focus on the B Line’s route on Selby Avenue from Hamline Avenue to John Ireland Boulevard.

Something New on Selby: Rondo Exchange is Open
If you’ve traveled down Selby recently, you may have noticed something new at 856 Selby Avenue. Rondo Exchange officially opened on March 21, 2026, bringing a new small business and community space into the neighborhood. For the past two years, the Rondo Community Land Trust has been developing this space, building out 2,800 square feet at the corner of Selby and Victoria to support local entrepreneurs. The result is Rondo Exchange, a small business incubator that brings together retail, creative work, and community space under one roof.

Rondo Exchange Grand Opening!
Rondo Exchange is a new community-owned small business incubator developed by Rondo Community Land Trust. This space was designed to support creative entrepreneurs with affordable commercial space, structured technical assistance, shared services, and visibility within a collaborative retail environment. But more importantly, it represents something bigger. For decades, Rondo was a thriving Black commercial district built by entrepreneurs who served and sustained the community. While much of that economic ecosystem was disrupted, the spirit of innovation and cultural leadership never disappeared. Rondo Exchange is part of a broader effort to restore that economic and cultural presence along Selby Avenue.
